Hi, I’m Junquan Deng (邓浚泉, pronounced like “Joon-chwan Deng” ). I am currently a research intern at the Microsoft DKI Research Group, mentored by Dr. Pengfei Gao and Dr. Zhiyu Fan. I will be joining the CISPA Helmholtz Center for Information Security as a PhD student in a few months, where I will be advised by Dr. Ruijie Meng. Before that, I earned my master’s degree at the Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences, where I was advised by Prof. Purui Su and Assoc. Prof. Xiangkun Jia.

My research focuses on the intersection of software security and generative AI. I use fuzzing, program analysis, and LLMs to identify vulnerabilities in modern software. Recently, I have also begun treating generative systems themselves as a novel form of software, investigating the inherent defects within them.
