Hi, I'm Junquan Deng (邓浚泉, pronounced like "Joon-chwan Deng" ).

I am currently a research intern at Microsoft, mentored by Dr. Zhiyu Fan and Dr. Pengfei Gao. I will be joining the University of Waterloo as a PhD candidate, advised by Dr. Ruijie Meng. Previously, I earned my master’s degree at the Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences, advised by Prof. Purui Su and Assoc. Prof. Xiangkun Jia.

My research focuses on the intersection of software security and generative AI. I use fuzzing, program analysis, and LLMs to identify vulnerabilities in modern software. Recently, I have also begun treating generative systems themselves as a novel form of software, investigating the inherent defects within them.
